Rehman A Malik approves passport offices in Rawalakot, Kotli

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister A Rehman Malik has announced to approve passport offices in Rawalakot and Kotli at Azad Kashmir and directed interior ministry to provide necessary equipment in these passport offices by the 2nd week of August.
He made this approval during his meeting with AJK prime prime_minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan here Tuesday. AJP prime minister apprised interior minister of law and order situation in AJK, reconstruction and rehabilitation of quake affectees, security of foreigners working on development projects, establishment of passport office in Rawal Kot and Kotli and investment in Azad Kashmir.
AJK Prime Minister paid rich tributes to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her sacrifices for strengthening democratic order in Pakistan saying country had been put back on track to democracy due to her sacrifices.
He lauded government decisions with regard to ongoing operation against the terrorists in Malakand and Swat saying peace had been restored in these areas due to courageous steps of the government.
Foreigners in large number were working on reconstruction related projects in Muzaffarabad and other areas, he told. Foolproof security arrangements had been made for them, he added.
Interior minister said full cooperation would be extended for law and order in Azad Kashmir and training of AJK police. All the requirements of police would be met, he assured. There was need to build structure of AJK police on modern lines. Training standard be improved and AJK police centre be accorded academy status, he stressed.
In camera briefing was needed on law and order situation in Azad Kashmir, he said adding there should be no comprise on security issue.
