A young woman was assassinated by unidentified assailants at home here on Friday, police said.
According to details, a married woman was killed when she was sleeping at her home midnight, in Chotagalla Village near to 30 km from Rawalakot city.
Khalid Khan resident of Chotagala village told police that two masked persons entered the home by breaking the window in midnight and opened fire with pistol on her wife who died on the scene. Meanwhile, the attackers succeeded to escape .
The police handed over the dead body to her family after autopsy. The police investigation is continued.
Meanwhile, Press for Peace (PFP) representative Dr. Nighat Younas has condemned the incident and demanded that assailants must be arrested immediately. She said police has failed to protect the lives of innocent citizens, especially women in remote areas of AJ&K.
She said that such heinous crimes can only be overcome only by strict action against the perpetrators.
