ERRA introduces improved traditional housing design

Deputy Chairman ERRA, Lt. General Sajjad Akram inspected different development projects in district of Rawalakot and Bagh, AJ&K. DG SEERA, Programme Manager Rawalakot and other official were present on the occasion.Deputy Chairman was given briefing about New Rawalakot City Project and other city development plans in AJ&K. He was informed that there are a total of 431 ongoing projects in the district Rawalakot of which 60% have already been completed. The total cost of these projects is Rs.10 Billion.

After the briefing, Deputy Chairman ERRA inspected all the under construction projects and showed satisfaction over the reconstruction work. He also directed the concerned departments for the speedy completion of delayed projects. Sajad Akram visited under construction District Health Office Rawalakot and expressed satisfaction over the construction and available facilities in the complex. He directed to complete this project by the first week of June 2009. Other projects which Deputy Chairman visited are CMH Rawalakot, Post Graduate Collage for boys Rawalakot, and Girls High School Kharak.

On the next leg of his visit to district Bagh, District Deputy Chairman ERRA visited Qadir Abad Bridge, Central Bridge and also inaugurated Boys High School Khana Muri. While addressing different groups Deputy Chairman highlighted the importance of coordination amongst communities and directed government officials to always take local representatives on board.The issue created hardships for the people and they started protest demonstrations in Batagram. However; Erra, being the lead government relief agency, intervened into the matter and constituted a special team of qualified engineers to carry out sample inspection.
