Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front-JKLF- in a statement issued by its head of Diplomatic affairs Prof. Zafar Khan, has strongly condemned the arrest by Indian occupation forces, of senior JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmed Butt in Indian Held Kashmir.
Zahoor Butt, the youngest brother of martyred JKLF leader Maqbool Butt, had returned to his home in Indian occupied Kashmir from Pakistan administered part of Jammu Kashmir along with his wife and children after 19 years.
He was picked up from his family home along with his wife and children by the occupation forces on 12th February. Although his wife and children have since been released due to protests by the JKLF led by S M Afzal the senior vice Chairman of the organisation, the occupation authorities however continue to hold the JKLF leader in custody.
Zafar Khan has called on the Indian authorities and the National Conference local administration to release Zahoor Butt without delay and not to infringe his civil and political liberties as a citizen of the state. He said the JKLF will make representations to various human rights bodies and other public figures for his immediate release.
