Thirty passengers died and over 40 sustained injured in Muzaffar Abad

MUZAFFARABAD: Thirty passengers died and over 40 sustained injuries as Dabban bound ill-fated Khanewal coach plunged into a gorge near Muzaffarabad. According to police, over 50 passengers were aboard the bus. The accident took place near Meera Degree, when the driver lost control while negotiating a a turn. Assistant Commissioner Abdul Hameed Kiyani has confirmed the casualties of 30 people. The coach nosedived into 1000 feet deep canyon, eyewitnesses said. Immediately after the accident the local people retrieved 20 dead bodies. The unfortunate passengers were going home to celebrate Eid with their families, police said. Twenty-five injured passengers have been shifted to CMH and Aims Hospitals.
